This device adopts the ultrasonic measurement principle and is suitable for measuring the thickness of various materials that allow ultrasonic waves to propagate at a constant speed within them and reflect from their back surfaces.

Application Range:

This instrument can measure various plates and processed parts. Another important application is monitoring pipelines and pressure vessels in production equipment to detect the extent of thinning due to corrosion during use. It is widely applicable in petroleum, chemical, metallurgy, shipbuilding, aviation, aerospace, and other fields.

Basic Principle:

The principle of ultrasonic thickness measurement is similar to that of optical wave measurement. The probe emits ultrasonic pulses that reach the back surface of the measured object and propagate through it. When these pulses reach the material’s boundary, they reflect back to the probe. By measuring the time the ultrasonic waves take to travel through the material, the thickness of the material is determined.
